The church of today
We take inspiration from St Augustine’s restless search for meaning and happiness as a young person. We believe in the importance of recruiting and offering formation to young people who can then minister to those younger than themselves.
Guiding on the next step
Becoming a solemnly professed Augustinian priest or brother is a lifelong commitment to God, to the Church, and to the Augustinian Order. The formation process is a time to develop both the mind and the heart to better help future Augustinian friars serve God's people.
Clare Priory offers a tranquil environment for those who wish to withdraw from their daily lives and find rest in the Lord. It is the main Retreat Centre of the Order of St Augustine (O.S.A.) for England and Scotland.
We have chaplaincies in schools and universities. We also conduct religious services in prisons.
Working for the community
ST AUGUSTINE'S CENTRE
A space for spirituality and education
Open to all those who wonder about the meaning of life and the fate of mankind, St Augustine’s Centre invites everyone to discuss and exchange ideas, through philosophical reflection, research or training. It offers itself as a space for questioning and building ... to design together the society of today and tomorrow.
Our mission as servants of humanity
The Friars are involved in a variety of ministries, including prison and University chaplaincy and are keen to bridge the Church to the wider community through spirituality, art and social justice activities.
